The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) was the first rendezvous in space of American and Soviet spacecraft. This kit, which is in scale with Monogram’s Apollo Saturn V model, is a great addition to a Real Space collection.

The kit is molded in white styrene and has 35 parts. A very simple decal sheet is also part of the kit. It has two sets of markings for the American Apollo spacecraft, and two Soviet flags for the Soyuz.

An interesting feature of the kit itself is that all of the package markings, as well as the instruction sheet, are in both English and Russian. Presumably this was so the kit would be capable of being marketed in both the Soviet Union and the United States. I’ve never seen this before or since in a kit produced in the United States.

This kit was reissued by Revell in 1997, and the review sample is from the reissue production run. The completed kit is about 8 inches long.
