I bought this kit on eBay for $25.00 in 1997, and I suspect it’s a recast of an old model that was produced by Warp Models. I don’t support recasting, and I didn’t even know what recasting was when I bought this about 12 years ago. I wanted a big Oberth, and this was the only one I could find at the time. The kit arrived in a plastic baggie inside a cardboard box, and didn’t include any instructions or decals.

The kit is cast in tan resin, and it has a boatload of issues. There are lots of gouges that need to be filed down and filled in. The warp pylons are exactly that . . . . warped, and severely, to the point where I’m going to have to use hot water to bend them in almost an inch just to get them to touch the bottom of the primary hull. There is lots of flash that needs to be sanded down as well.

Whoever cast this kit left a lot to be desired, and I’m half tempted to sell it, or send it to the scrap pile. It may very well be an actual Warp Models kit, but I have no way of knowing.

The completed kit measures about 13 inches long and 5.5 inches wide.
