This kit features a different version of the speeder as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Rather than using the original design as seen in the movie, this kit is based on a concept that appeared in the Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook by Joe Johnson and Nilo Rodis-Jamero (1980). The primary section of the speeder uses a Y-Wing fighter cockpit.

The kit has 17 parts and includes a full cockpit with a pilot. A sheet of clear styrene is included so that if the builder wishes, the cockpit windows can be included. Or the canopy can be left “movie style” without windows (which would have reflected the studio lights on the filming model). The parts do have a fair amount of flash, so careful cleanup will be necessary.

Decals from JT Graphics supply the hull lines and Rebel insignia.
