This is a conversion kit that allows a builder to modify Sci-Fi Spaceship Miniatures vacuform USS Avenger kit into a Soyuz Class Attack Frigate as seen in “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. It can also be used on the AMT/Ertl USS Reliant kit, but conversion might be a little more difficult with the styrene kit than the vacuform kit.

The parts are provided on two 9.75 inch x 13 inch vacuform sheets. The detail is pretty simple, and there is room for builders to add extra detailing to the kit. No decals were included with my kit, but PNT Models produces decals. I have a set for the USS Bozeman, NCC-1941, which is the ship seen in the TNG episode “Cause and Effect”. The filming model of the Reliant from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was modified into the Bozeman by Greg Jein and Michael Okuda.

If you are looking for a conversion set so you can add the Soyuz Class to your fleet, then you will need one of these kits. The model has been discontinued for a number of years, but it appears from time to time on eBay.
