Bandai has entered the model market with a new license for Star Wars models, and they aren’t wasting any time getting products to market.

Bandai’s kit of the two-legged mechanical scout is molded in light gray and brown styrene. The brown parts are for an in-scale figure of Chewbacca, which can be posed standing in the top hatch, and a “forest” base for the completed model to stand on. Clear red parts are also included for an “action” scene of the main lasers firing.

The kit has fully-functional articulation in the hips and knees, allowing a variety of poses. The “head” swivels and includes a full cockpit with two pilot figures. The forward hatches can be constructed either open or closed (four parts are included – two open, two closed). A choice of an open or closed hatch is also provided.

The kit includes both stickers and waterslide decals.

The completed model stands 7.16 inches (182 mm) tall.

This looks to be a nice kit, and I’m definitely looking forward to it. I hope that someone comes out with some 1:48 Imperial Scouts and Speeder Bikes at some point, because that would make a very nice diorama!
