In all honesty, I had a difficult time trying to pick a Category for this. I decided that Anime would make the most sense, given that this kit is tied in with the old Space Battleship Yamato (aka Star Blazers) series. I remember watching Star Blazers on TV as a kit, and I have the first season of the US version on VHS. I’m always on the lookout for something interesting tied in with the show, and when I saw this kit at WonderFest in 2008, I bought it without a second thought.

I’ve purchased from Arsenal before, and I’ve been impressed with their kits. This model is cast in white resin, and even has a serial number on the left side of the gun. The kit looks like it will require very little in the way of cleanup, other than removing pour stubs and some sanding to get rid of a few seam lines.

The kit has a total of 5 parts – pistol grip/main body, barrel, aft counterweight, and two pistol grips for the handguard.

The completed prop replica will be about 16 inches long.
