This is one of the kits in Revell’s SnapTite pre-decorated model line that came out in 2008. Other kits in the line included Anakin’s Jedi Starfighter, Obi Wan’s Jedi Starfighter, ARC-170 Starfighter, Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter, and the TIE Interceptor.

The kit comes pre-decorated, and all that the builder has to do is slap it together. You can honestly build this in about 10 minutes and have a halfway decent model of an X-Wing fighter. But it’s small. The fighter is 4.3 inches long and has a wingspan of just under 4 inches.

It’s a good kit for a beginning modeler, and experienced modelers can have fun with it by adding in more details, weathering it, and even adding lighting to the engines. I built one for a friend as a birthday gift, and weathered the heck out of it. It was a fun project that didn’t require a lot of thought or research.
