This is the Colonial Viper Mark VII as seen in the reimagined “Battlestar Galactica” television series. The Mark VII Viper was the most-advanced human fighter seen in the series, and this model accurately portrays the standard version of the fighter as shown over the course of the series. This is not the updated version seen as Apollo’s fighter during later seasons.

The model is molded in light gray resin with engraved panel lines. One clear vacuform canopy is also included. The parts are beautiful, and are free from flash. The kit also offers the option of raised or lowered landing gears.

A color page shows the paint markings for both the Battlestar Galactica and the Battlestar Pegasus.

JBOT decals are provided and offer the builder the choice of: Columbia, Rycon, Atlantia, Poseidon, Triton, Argo, Pacifica, Acropolis, Solaria, Prometheus, Galactica, and Pegasus in silver or black lettering. Also provided are letters so you can come up with your own Battlestar name if desired. Stencils and pilot names (tiny little things) are also included on the packed decal sheet.

The completed kit measures over 5.25 inches long with a wingspan of 3.25 inches. This is a nice companion piece to the Mark II Viper and the Cylon Raider, also produced by Black Sun Models.
