Ever since it graced the opening scene of “Star Wars” in 1977, the Rebel Blockade Runner has been a model that every Star Wars fan wanted, but never received. Over the years, as garage kit manufacturers developed models, fans clamored for a kit of this iconic ship. In 2010, through the efforts of Blue Moon Models and model master Stefan Hacker, this dream kit finally became reality.

To say that this 1:350 kit is beautiful is such an understatement it isn’t funny. This is a beautiful work of art that I’m holding off on building until I feel my skills are up to the task. The instructions are provided on a CD-ROM, and a sheet of three decals is included for the cockpit insert. An acrylic name plate is provided, silver with black edging and lettering, clearly spelling out “CR-90 Blockade Runner” and “Corellian Engineering Systems” with two Rebel insignia.

The resin parts are packed in bubblewrap and packing peanuts to protect them, so unwrapping the parts is a project in itself. The parts are cast in light beige resin, and the detail is wonderful.

If you love the Blockade Runner as much as I do, this kit is well worth the price.

The completed kit is over 14 inches long (I’m guessing on this).
