This is the large-scale kit of the Enterprise NX-01 that was issued by Polar Lights in 2004. This kit is huge! The nacelles alone are almost 12 inches in length.

The parts are molded in light gray and clear, and include a ton of detail. Polar Lights included clear styrene parts for the portholes, warp nacelle grilles, and Bussard domes, so lighting this kit is a very achievable goal. The kit also includes a full decal sheet with all of the stencil and registry markings.

Polar Lights was purchased by Racing Champions, who elected not to reissue the kits. However, a new company named Round 2, founded by some of the former Polar Lights employees, has negotiated to purchase or lease the molds from Racing Champions, and these kits may be reissued at some point in the future.

This kit has limited availability through Starship Modeler and Federation Models, but also shows up frequently on auction sites such as eBay.
