Jimi Glancy has done it again, and my wallet has been the victim of another purchased model from .JPG. This time around it’s a foray into the universe of Battlestar Galactica, in the form of the Mark I Colonial Viper from the original Battlestar television series (the one that aired back in the late 1970’s).

The kit is crisply cast in light gray resin and has a total of 16 parts: fuselage, cockpit canopy, forward intakes (1), central engine section (1), upper wing, two side wings, two laser guns, bottom detail piece, six thruster detail parts (choose one design or the other), three burner cans, and a base (egg, sunny-side up).

The completed model looks to be about 6 inches long.

Full Colonial markings are provided, including the red stripes, squadron marks, canopy panels, victory markings, and a choice of pilot names (Starbuck, Humpty, Apollo, Milto, Shelly, and of course . . . . Stu Pidasso).

If you like Eggplane designs, get one of these kits. It’s a great addition to your model shelf, and will look great alongside the other kits that .JPG has released.
