The Russian Space Station “Mir” (“Peace” in English) was launched in 1986, and was in use until 1999.

Revell issued this SnapTite kit in 1998 as a Plus Pack kit that included three colors of paint and a brush.

This kit is very simple, and does not have a lot of detail. Modelers wishing to add details will find it to be an excellent starting point. As an example, the solar panels are divided into squares, with each square being further divided into four quarters. The molded-in detail stops at that point – it doesn’t include the hundreds of reflective panels that normally make up solar arrays. The main kit parts are the same way. The large braces and supporting structures are present, but the small detail is missing.

The completed kit is about 8.75 inches long. One nice thing is that, being 1:144 scale, a 1:144 scale Space Shuttle can be displayed alongside either as a free-floating ship, or docked.
